12 color light photography, the eyeballs are different

The eyes are “window”. Usually people obtain external information through it, while medical engineering scholars obtain information in the body through it.

“Eye cameras that have been applied can monitor cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases by analyzing the vascular form, dynamic vein diameter, proportional, curvature, etc. through the analysis of the vascular forms in the eyes.” Professor Zhou Chuanqing said that the eyes are the only part of the arterial blood vessels that can be directly observed in the human body to pass a health signal.

However, only taking color photos can far from meeting the requirements of medical diagnosis. Scientists have found that if the light is split into monochrome light, the information obtained will double.

“In the green light of 500 nanometers, oxygen -containing hemoglobin in the blood vessels is basically the same as hemoglobin without oxygen, and the photos taken can see that the dynamic veins are similar; but in the red light of 605 nanometer The absorption of light is large, and there are many red light reflected by oxygen -containing hemoglobin. The photos taken can obviously see the arteries bright, but the red light absorbed by hemoglobin without oxygen, so the vein is dark. “Feng Ximeng explained, explained, Existing equipment cannot give the differences of veins on data, and generally depends on doctors’ experience judgments.

To this end, the Peking University team used 12 -color light sources in 470 nanometer to 810 nanometers for imaging, and took 12 photos of 12 different colors at a time.

Multi -mode eye function imaging

Different wavelength advantages are different. Zhou Chuanqing explained: “Red light or near -infrared light, it has a strong penetration in biological tissue and can take deeper tissue information. And the imaging of blue light and green light on the shallow tissue will be clearer.”

Parallel laser beam, can shoot short videos

The blood in the blood vessels is not static, but flowing. Therefore, dynamic data is essential for the diagnosis of the disease.

“New equipment can shoot a short video of 5 seconds, and the light source is laser.” Feng Ximeng said that the laser light source can turn on the “sports mode” of the shooting. Part of the eyeball.

In order to enable the video to shoot the entire eyeball, the team innovatively designed laser as a light path for incident light, which not only expands the field of vision, but also synchronizes measurement and evaluation with the data of the 12 rackets.

Through the analysis of short videos, a series of dynamic data can be obtained, such as flow velocity, pulsation, blood flow irrigation, oxygen metabolism, and so on.

But for doctors, what’s the use of blood flow rate? The physical data of blood alone cannot be used for clinical diagnosis.

“The creation of medical devices requires closely connecting clinical clinicals to clinical services.” Ren Qiushi said that the combination of medical workers requires multi -disciplinary cross -crossing. Science and engineering not only understands medical language, but also presents medical languages ​​on the equipment.

“We have obtained the test report of medical devices and can conduct clinical trials. When clinical trials get enough data, we can apply for listing to relevant departments.” Zhou Chuanqing stated that in Beijing, Shenzhen and other places, the team has carried out relevant data. Accumulation, but due to the epidemic, clinical trials in various places are slower than expected. “We hope that in two or three years, we can promote the instrument to enter the community as a screening equipment for the disease. Because it uses a fully automatic design, it is especially suitable for the screening of large -scale people.” Zhou Chuanqing said.

At the same time, the team is also cooperating with the ophthalmology department, neurology, cardiology, and nephrology of major hospitals to conduct large -scale clinical research on large samples in order to explore the corresponding relationship between the scenes in the “crystal ball” and the disease between the disease.
